What is the ADOS-2?

Is the ADOS a diagnosis?
No. The ADOS-2 does not diagnose autism or any other condition. It gives structured observations and standardised scores. Only a qualified practitioner can make a diagnosis, and they read the ADOS-2 findings alongside developmental history and other information.
Who delivers the ADOS assessment at Astrad?

Can the NDIS fund an ADOS-2 assessment?
It depends on how your plan is managed and what it funds. Astrad is not a registered NDIS provider. We support self-managed and plan-managed participants, so agency-managed funding is not the right fit. This is general information, not NDIS advice. The NDIA decides what your plan funds.
Do I need a referral for an ADOS-2 assessment?
No. You do not need a referral to contact us. If you do have a referral or reports from a GP, paediatrician or psychologist, we review them as part of your assessment.
